Story

Iceland is the Earth unfinished: a seismic terrain of ice and fire, grinding glaciers and churning hot springs. The dynamic patterns of these landforms are at their most breath-taking when seen from above: light, shade and colour blend across the landscape like paint on an artist’s palette, merging black sand coasts with blue glaciers and snow-capped hills. Looking straight down, eye to the viewfinder like a bird surveying its domain, there is no horizon to gaze upon – instead, the camera framed each scene as if one was falling to Earth. Flowing water colours of deep blue and sea green created abstract shapes along the shoreline. Mysterious spirit faces appeared unexpectedly, holding their expression just long enough for the camera shutter to open – a blink in the light – and then they were gone.
